Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Kala Digital Labs, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Text Reminder ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
We collect the information you provide directly, such as your mobile phone number, reminder preferences, and any messages you send to the Service. We also collect usage data related to reminders, follow-ups, and streaks so the Service can function.
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as health details, financial information, or location data beyond what is necessary to deliver your reminders.
How we use your information
- To send you the text reminders, follow-ups, and streak messages you request.
- To respond to your messages and manage your account.
- To improve the Service and fix issues.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
SMS and messaging
When you sign up or text +1 (808) 300-4722, you consent to receive SMS messages from us. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Your number is only used to deliver the Service.
Legal basis for processing
Where required by law, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (creating your account, sending the reminders you set up, and billing); your consent (SMS opt-in and the preferences the assistant saves, which you may withdraw at any time by replying STOP or deleting items on your page); our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure, preventing fraud and abuse, and improving the Service); and compliance with legal obligations (carrier, A2P 10DLC, tax, and accounting requirements).
How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service (such as cloud hosting and SMS delivery providers). These providers are contractually bound to use your information only for the purposes we specify and to protect it.
Purchases are handled by Paddle.com, our online reseller and the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle collects and processes your billing details (including your email address and payment information) as a separate controller for payment processing, subscription management, invoicing, tax compliance, and fraud prevention. We never receive or store your full payment card details. See Paddle's Privacy Notice.
We may also share information with professional advisers (legal, accounting), or disclose it if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Data retention
We keep your account information, reminders, and assistant preferences for as long as your account is active, and delete or anonymize them within 90 days of account deletion. Message history is retained for up to 24 months so you can review it and so we can support you. One-time sign-in codes are deleted shortly after they expire. Consent and opt-out records are kept for at least 5 years as required by mobile carrier and A2P 10DLC rules, and billing records are retained by Paddle for the period required by tax law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and hashed sign-in codes — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
What the assistant remembers
To make reminders feel human, the assistant may save a short list of preferences — for example what to call you, your preferred time of day, tone, and follow-up style. We do not store health conditions, medications, diagnoses, financial details, or information about other people. Everything the assistant has saved is listed on your private page, and you can delete any item, or all of them, at any time.
Consent and opt-out records
When you opt in, we keep a record of how and when consent was given — the method (web form or text keyword), the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time, and the IP address for web sign-ups. When you reply STOP we record the opt-out and stop all messages to that number. These records are kept to comply with mobile carrier and A2P 10DLC requirements. Your own consent history is shown on your private page.
Signing in to your page
Your page is protected by a one-time 6-digit code we text to your number. Codes expire after 10 minutes and can only be used once. We store a hashed version of the code, not the code itself.
Your choices
You can update or delete your reminders from your private page. To stop receiving messages entirely, reply STOP to any text from us. You can also request account deletion by emailing yonathan@kaladigitallabs.com.
Children's privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
